It's the same tie!

wendall winnWendall is a partner in the Charlottesville law firm of Richmond & Fishburne, where he has worked for 28 years. He's now head of its trusts and estates group. (The firm has the excellent internet domain name of “richfish.”) Wendall received his law degree from UVa in 1971 and then, disproving what they say about lawyers, earned a master’s in Bible from Columbia International University five years later.

His wife, Lynn, has an undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and a master’s in counseling from Colorado Christian University. She is a licensed psychotherapist. Wendall has two children: Ashley R. Winn, 26, a graduate of James Madison University who is a web designer in San Diego; and Cory L. Winn, 25, a graduate of Elon University, an event and wedding planner on Kiawah Island, S.C. Lynn has two children as well: Lincoln Todd, 34, who’s self employed (with a daughter, Kenzie); and Andrea Oakley, a homemaker who’s married to John and mother to Ryan.

Christian faith drives Wendall’s life. Since 1980 he has been a session member (read: ruling elder) at Trinity Presbyterian Church, and he was the founding pastor of the Hickory Community Chapel for the four years before that. He helped found and served on the board of the Covenant School, an interdenominational Christian school that now has two campuses and 700 students. He was also on he board of Westminster-Canterbury of the Blue Ridge, a continuing-care retirement community with roots in the Episcopalian and Presbyterian faiths, for six years.

He’s a past president of the Albemarle County Rotary Club and of the Greencroft Club in Ivy, outside Charlottesville. Wendall is a skier, fly fisherman and rock climber, and he and Lynn always spend a couple of weeks around Memorial Day on the Outer Banks and a week each spring and fall in Denver, where Lynn’s from and where her children and grandchildren live.
