Having earned an M.D. from UVa in 1972, Bob now practices obstetrics and gynecology in Greensboro. He and his wife, Judy, who has a master’s in education from Virginia, have five children: Robert Jr., a 1994 W&L graduate, who works with Fringe Benefits Inc. in Austin; Jennifer, a R.N. graduate of the University of Florida, now a homemaker, also in Austin; Scott, a 1998 W&L grad who went to medical school at Chapel Hill and is now completing a fellowship in orthopedics and about to go into private practice in Raleigh; Noell, a Virginia Tech grad, married to Roane Lacy's son, Ben, a 1998 Washington and Lee English major who’s now a lawyer in Waco; and Erin, a UNC graduate and homemaker who will soon be living in Raleigh. Bob and Judy have 11 grandchildren, coming up on 12 this July. In his spare time Bob plays golf (“when it’s warm”) and has been active in Rotary since 1983.
