Geoffrey L. Stone

Geoff is retired now but when he worked, it was in regulatory support services, most recently as a consultant to the funeral home industry and earlier as vice president for resident life and services at Westminster Canterbury in Richmond, an elite continuing care retirement community owned and operated by the Episcopal and Presbyterian churches. He earned a master’s degree in health care administration from George Washington University in 1973.
His wife, Virginia, is a 1966 graduate of Southern Seminary and works in sales at a women’s boutique in Richmond. They have a daughter, Beverley Dale, a 1995 Sweet Briar graduate with a B.A. in English and a master’s from Virginia Commonwealth University who is a middle-school teacher of English – but who’s now at home with her first child, and Geoff and Virginia’s first grandchild.
Geoff says he proudest of his daughter’s accomplishments but annoyed by the “pathetic state of leadership” in Washington, in both Congress and the Executive.
In his now-abundant spare time he reads, golfs, pores over financial reviews, and serves as vice president of his condo owners’ association in Henrico County.
