Michael J. Spector

Since 1999 Mike has been Belgium’s consul to Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Turks and Caicos Islands. He’s a member of the Consular Corps of Puerto Rico and was that group’s dean in 2004. And surely he is the only one in our class to have earned an actual knighthood from the king of Belgium.

Sir Michael has also been president and chief executive of Margo Caribe Inc., in Dorado, P.R., since 1981. His wife, Margaret, coincidentally or not, is nicknamed Margo. She has a B.S. in political science from the University of Denver. He also has two Jack Russell terriers, Lucky and Whitney. In addition to Puerto Rico, the Spectors also spend time in Coconut Grove, Florida.
