Stephen Shepherd

Steve is chief operating officer of Orbea USA, an importer and distributor of high-end bicycles made in the Pyrenees (see what $3,500 will get you), and is professionally active in various industry trade groups. He has an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

He’s married to Ruth Shepherd, who has a B.A. and an M.A. from Oklahoma State. They live in Little Rock and have two children: Stephanie, 33, who graduated from the University of the South (Sewanee) and from the University of Arkansas with an M.S. in geology, now a Ph.D. candidate in environmental dynamics at Arkansas; and Paul, 30, who received his B.S. in electrical engineering from Arkansas and a master’s in acoustical engineering from the University of Texas, now an automotive acoustics engineer with Bose.

With hobbies that include road and mountain biking, whitewater canoeing, backpacking and hiking, Steve is active in the Arkansas Canoe Club, the Ozark Society and the Ozark Highlands Trail Association.
