The Collegian in 1878 was an exceedingly different creature. This example is reproduced from Come Cheer, the 250th anniversary book. The story of the trip to Charlottesville is perhaps more interesting than the report on the game (in which W&L’s pitcher “completely bewildered” UVa by throwing curveballs.
