W&L has said it won't participate in the U.S. News and other ranking schemes any more, because they focus on a lot of the wrong things, disregard a lot of the right ones and even, sometimes, cause college administrations to pander. That having been said, the whole world still eats them up, and so do we. Here are a couple that we especially liked recently.

Kiplinger lists W&L as the fifth-best value among all liberal arts colleges.

Also check Brooke’s blog, to which he links. It's clear that these are Admissions Office recruits but the entries seem genuine. And if they’re reaching the intended audience, the could be very effective, as they’re written in quite personal voices, clearly not scripted by the admissions or PR staffs.
